The Honors program will offer a group of select 9th-grade students a more rigorous curriculum in order to challenge them academically, prepare them for Advance Placement and Dual Enrollment classes, and, ultimately, prepare them for a strong post-high school experience

Honors Program Student BenefitsÌý

 

  • Honors Program students have access to advanced courses during their 9th-grade year. These courses provide scholars with a weighted GPA and a transition into AP classes such as AP Computer Science Principles, AP English Literature and Composition, AP Chemistry, and many other AP classes in all core subjects during scholars’ 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade years.Ìý
  • Regular mentoring and academic guidance.Ìý
  • Early access to college visits and other enrichment opportunities, such as guest speakers and field trips inside and outside of the school settingÌý
  • Test prep for the SAT, along with the opportunity to take a free practice test in 9th grade.Ìý
  • Support finding and completing extended learning opportunities, including summer enrichment programs, extracurricular activities, internships, and community service.Ìý
  • Course selection and placement examsÌý
