Summer 2023 Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) Benefits

°Õ³ó±ðÌýDistrictÌýissued summerÌýP-EBTÌýbenefits to eligible families on the last day ofÌýJuly,Ìý2023. Eligible children will receive the federally approved flat rate of $120 per child.ÌýÌý

District of Columbia (DC) children are eligible for Summer 2023ÌýP-EBTÌýbenefits under the following circumstances:Ìý

1.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýA student was enrolled, during the month of June 2023, in a school that participated in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) in the 2022-23 school year AND:Ìý

  • the school participated in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP);Ìý
  • The family applied for Free and Reduced Priced Meals (FARM) before June 30,2023Ìýwas determined eligible by the School Food Authority (SFA), and eligibility was updated in the Student Information System (SIS) by June 30,2023;Ìý
  • Directly certified for FARM (which includes students receiving SNAP and TANF).Ìý

School Year 2021-22ÌýP-EBTÌýBenefitsÌýfor children under the age of 6Ìý

Children who were under the age of 6 on Sept. 30,Ìý2023Ìýand were part of a household participating in SNAP will receive a monthly benefit of $50.36 per month they were enrolled in SNAP between September 2022 and May 11, 2023, when the Public Health Emergency ended. This amounts to $478.42 if the child was eligible for the maximum time possible.ÌýÌý

Because DC offers Pre-K to children as young as three, there are some children who will receive both a school year and summer benefit. This will only happen for children under 6, who were part of a household participating in SNAP during September 2022 – May 11,Ìý2023ÌýAND the child was also enrolled in a qualifying school and met eligibility criteria during the month of June 2023.ÌýÌý
